Annual Meeting

This meeting will bring together members of the Systems Biology Centers and the scientific advisory board to showcase ongoing research within the consortium and provide opportunities for interaction between NIAID program staff, the Scientific Advisory Board, and grantees. The program will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Pedro Beltrao, along with Systems Biology Center presentations, flash talks, a poster session, and a panel discussion.

Security

Visitors must enter the building through the front lobby entrance on Fishers Lane and present a valid, government-issued photo ID to the security guards. Security screenings are required for anyone not in possession of a valid HHS.

Building Entrance Requirements

• All visitors must present acceptable government-issued identification (IDs) to enter the NIAID Building at 5601 Fishers Lane.
• Acceptable IDs are listed below and must be original documents.
• Badges will be handed out to you the morning of May 18th at the NIAID Building. You will need to keep and re-use this badge for entry on May 19th.
• Visitors without HHS or NIH PIV Cards are subject to passing through scanners and personal inspection.

Acceptable Identification (Must be original documents; digital or photocopies of documents are not acceptable.)

U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens or permanent residents with a Green Card)

• NIH PIV Card
• HHS PIV Card
• Valid (non-expired), US State Driver’s License* or US State Identification Card*, or U.S. Passport 

(*Must be Real-ID compliant starting on 5/7/2025. This means that if you do not have a “Real-ID” you are required to present your passport.)

Non-U.S. Persons (Individuals who are NOT U.S. citizens or Green Card holders)

Parking

Visitor parking at our building is suspended for all non-NIAID visitors. The following options are available for use:

– Metered parking along Rock Creek Mill Rd. and Fishers Lane.

– Atlantic Parking public garage located at 12721 Twinbrook Parkway. Rates for this location are as follows:

• 1-hour $4
• 2-hours $6
• All day $8

Public Transportation

NIAID (5601 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD) is serviced by Ride On Bus and Metro. The nearest Metro station is Twinbrook (Red Line), which is less than half a mile away from the building. Cross Twinbrook Parkway at the intersection with Fishers Lane and proceed down Fishers Lane. NIAID is the last building on the left.
